I really like this one! Much more affordable than Century, my all-time favourite, but still very, very good. Maktub is the party spirit from the jazz age with a clean, fresh taste and plenty of buzz. Recommended.

Perhaps the only fault of Doubs Mystique is its relatively low thujone content -- so don't expect to dance with the Fairy :-) But if you drink absinthe for the taste alone, you will not be disappointed.

I confess. Yes, Absinthium 1792 is a rather cheap, artificially coloured oil mix, but I still like the taste and do drink it from time to time. Louches nicely, which is not at all usual for an absinthe of this class.

Thanks Matt!
I have heard that there are two varieties of Sebor; one from the old Martin Sebor distillery and another one.

I have been the producer of Sebor Absinth for the last 5 years. The confusion is that Mr. Sebor made and sold various absinthes under different brands, but everybody claimed to be selling the “Original Sebor Absinth” – of which there was and is only 1, and sold by Sebor Absinth ltd in the UK. To prevent confusion, I have named our products after myself and not Mr. Sebor, also due to the fact that I am now making them. I make products with Extra Anise and with 35 mg/kg thujone (we were the first to offer such a product). I have never heard anybody say Seobr Abisnth has too much anise, it is always the opposite, which is why I introduced an “Extra Anise” Absinth. One reason our louche is not distinct when prepared the traditional way, is that we freeze our absinthe to below freezing and then filter it. This is why our absinthe louches best when it is poured over ice / crushed ice and allowed to melt. There will be a profound louche when prepared this way.

There is actually only 1 type of Sebor Absinth and as brand owners all of it comes through us. The best place to buy is from http://www.seborabsinth.com and we guarantee 10mg/kg of wormwood/thujone and can deliver worldwide in around 3 days.
